CTP, the largest owner and developer of logistics and industrial spaces in Romania, has entered a long-term partnership with Rohlik Group („Rohlik“), one of Europe’s leading online grocery delivery services, which announced this year that it wants to expand in Romania.
CTP will build a dedicated 12,000 sqm warehouse in CTPark Bucharest North that will be customized to meet all the needs of Rohlík’s vendors and customers, including dedicated storage spaces of 4,000 sqm with controlled temperature (for freezing and refrigerating) for fresh fruit and vegetables, which will be delivered directly to consumers from local as well as international producers. Moreover, the low cost of occupancy and the location of the logistics park in the vicinity of the capital were key points for closing the long-term partnership.
Rohlik was founded seven years ago and, following the last round of funding, is now valued at over €1 billion, becoming a true „unicorn“ and in the process growing from a Czech start-up into a European trend-setting technology leader with a growing presence across the continent. During this period, it became the largest online supermarket in the Czech Republic. Having already successfully expanded to Hungary and Austria, it will be launching in Munich in the coming month, with other German cities and European countries to quickly follow.
In the near future, Rohlik’s passion for helping Europeans eat better and live happier lives will thus spread to Romania, Italy, France and Spain with the goal of becoming the leading European player. The company’s obsession regarding customer experience is reflected in every step of the order; from the broad and unique assortment, with more than 17,000 items to choose from, to the superior delivery experience. Rohlik is constantly optimizing delivery timing windows, currently aiming for as little as two hours after ordering with an astonishing accuracy of 15-minute delivery windows across all markets.
Ana Dumitrache, Country Manager CTP Romania, stated: “Our friends from Rohlik will start delivering as soon as the first half of the next year from our top notch CTPark Bucharest North. They are young, dynamic, fast moving and very creative, a perfect match for our team in Romania. We are looking forward to placing the first order. Whatever e-commerce clients need, we have it all: location, green efficient buildings with low cost of occupation, but most of all flexibility and professionalism in understanding and meeting their needs.”
Ladislav Bárta, Head of International Expansion at Rohlik also declares that “We are pleased to have found a reliable partner at CTP who understood not only our business needs but also our entrepreneurial spirit and our need for flexible approaches and creative solutions.”
CTPark Bucharest North is located in Ştefănești, Ilfov County and has a total area of 21 hectares, and the total investment was over 65 million euros. The logistics park is perfectly located to meet the needs of customers in the e-commerce sector, thanks to easy access in Bucharest. Even though it is a highly coveted place for the business community, CTPark will continue its expansion and still can accommodate new clients.
